#16200 Cherokee Band

He came to the Noranadia stable as an unraced 6 year old, and soon showed talent. He never ranked it the top 100 for the sim, but he was Noranadia's first stakes winner, first horse to break a 100 speed figure, and for a while held Vermont's track records at 6f and 6 1/2f - a good, solid, honest horse.

He became a multiple stakes winner at age 7, running gamely no matter where and no matter against whom. Toward the end of his 7 year old season, age began to catch up with him. At 8, he wasn't quite the same horse, struggling in allowance races.

Because he had always done so well for us, there was no way he was going to go into claiming races. He nobly underwent the sim's almost magical sex change operation, and when an opportunity arose to breed a 3 year old from Unbridled's last crop, since the pedigrees matched up in an interesting way, we went for it.

His daughter, Unbridled Passion, has shown flashes of his/her talent...and since "mom" was a late bloomer, we have similar hopes for daughter.

Novanadia loves Cherokee Band, and will always remember him. In fact, now that "he" is a "she," she will probably be used as a broodmare again in the future: A solid, honest performer in every way.
