PP 1 (12/1)
CONIL (TWINING x FAST PLAY x OLDEN TIMES)
Germany - Cadiz
Q Cassell ( 71 - 14 - 11 - 13 - 20% )

This little filly does well in allowance company but tends to falter when she steps up in class. She has been rested since week 1257 and may be a little rusty. Pass.

PP 2 (12/1)
DOCTOR REVENGE (A.P. INDY x TOOT'N TUDOR x TROY(GB))
M Day ( 73 - 19 - 16 - 7 - 26% )

Once in a lifetime claim. I would love to have her tucked away in my stable. She has won all five of her starts, all on the turf, all sprints. She drew a great jockey, and has come out of the 2 hole for 3 of her 5 wins. If she shakes loose on the front they are not going to catch her.

PP 3 (7/1)
EXBOURNE'S HEART (LION HEARTED x CARSON CITY x MENDEZ(FR))
Viking Racing - Futurefarm
F McKenzie ( 10 - 3 - 0 - 1 - 30% )

Coming off a disappointing Grade II effort after rattling off 4 consecutive wins. Some fillies (and some colts) can not handle the jump to 3 year old company as the late developers start catching up. With a very capable jockey up she would not surprise and will likely take home a top 5 finish.

PP 4 (8/1)
GOLDEN SAINT (STRIKE GOLD x SAINT BALLADO x CARO(IRE))
ASR - Lhdenmark
R Rice ( 15 - 5 - 1 - 0 - 33% )

Coming off a nice stalking win in the Sweden 1236 Stakes on the soft turf. This is her first outing as a 3 year old. I think I am going to need to see one before I back her. She has a top jockey in the stirrups. She was badly beaten in Graded Stakes company, and may repeat. Pass.

PP 5 (5/1)
MISS DEMEANOR (HONOUR AND GLORY x MIESQUE'S SON x MR. PROSPECTOR)
North West Racing Circuit - Kinkystable
H Harbert ( 23 - 2 - 4 - 2 - 9% )

Hard to dispute on the dirt. Drew a medicore jockey and could not handle the class of turf Graded races. Pass.

PP 6 (33/1)
MISS PYE (GIANT'S CAUSEWAY (IRE) x ROBERTO x NORTHERN DANCER)
East-West Connection - Pye
W Bayless ( 11 - 2 - 0 - 2 - 18% )

Cleverly named daughter of GIANT'S CAUSEWAY (IRE) has had a hard time competing with top allowance fillies, running a slow eighth her last outing. She is going to encounter traffic problems right from the start and does not appear to have the early speed required to get clear of the field.

PP 7 (7/1)
DEVIL'S HILL (DANEHILL x DEVIL'S BAG x NORTHERN BABY)
NEXIS - jabaria2
T Brewer ( 63 - 12 - 7 - 17 - 19% )

In her favour she is 2 for 2 on the turf and drew a top jockey. One of two track record holders in the race (7 furlongs at Upper New York) she seems to be looking for a little bit more distance and may not get her running legs under her before the race is over. Would not be a big surprise if she is there at the finish, but 7 to 7.5 would get my money quicker.

PP 8 (27/1)
WARREN PIECE (MINER x WAR x MIGHT)
MISSOURI - Brentuk3
P Smith ( 4 - 0 - 0 - 0 - 0% )

The name given to this filly is one of my favourites. Too bad I am not a name bettor. Drew an ugly jockey (rumour has it that the jockey has been dead for years and they just strap him on). Warren should break to the front and get eaten up by the half.

PP 9 (9/2)
SLICKFEST (HELISSIO x DANEHILL x ZABEEL(NZ))
QUEENSLAND - Railrider
B Hollier ( 40 - 6 - 2 - 0 - 15% )

One of the few bona fide late chargers in this race. The expected blistering front speed could set her up. On the down side - she could repeat her last Graded performance and just plain and simple run out of track. Have to respect her grit; and she should cash a cheque; but I don't think it will be the winner's checque.

PP 10 (24/1)
GOLD GUY(GB) (ADONIJAH(GB) x SIR TRISTRAM x ARTS AND LETTERS)
SERA - Maccabros
C Reid ( 12 - 0 - 1 - 0 - 0% )

I see an early try for the lead and an equally early fade. This little lady could grow up to be a long distance runner and will bear watching. But she has not shown anything to give one confidence for 6 furlongs.

PP 11 (22/1)
EXPLOSIVE SKUNK (MUTAKDDIM x EXPLODENT x VICTORIAN PRINCE)
NEW SOUTH WALES - Skunkbarn3
D Lakencher ( 3 - 1 - 0 - 0 - 33% )

First try at the distance comes in a Grade I. Came very nicely from the back of the pack at 7 furlongs against lesser company. She is another entrant that may run out of track before she gets fired up.

PP 12 (28/1)
IL YTELA (RIDE THE STORM x RAZEEN x BOLD DASH)
TERRAPIN JOCKEY CLUB - Ildottore
N Tippins ( 63 - 9 - 11 - 11 - 14% )

She broke her maiden against the boys and then came back and devestated a full field of allownace runners. Switched to tthe dirt in her third she quickly showed she prefers the grass. Scarey horse. Scarey trainer. Not enough form to get excited about; but if you play the longshots for a living - take her across the board.

PP 13 (6/1)
DANZIG IN VERMONT(GB) (DUBAI MILLENNIUM (GB) x DANZIG x IT'S TRUE)
VERMONT - Sojourneys
G Arnold ( 69 - 9 - 7 - 11 - 13% )

Nicely bred with a decent jockey and she appears to be over her Breeder's Bowl heartbreak. Set the Track Record in Florida when she ran a blistering 4.5. Based on her past performances I think it is safe to say she does not care for the outside posts. Tempermental filly has a shot if she can break clear of the traffic early - the concern is the fact that most of the field will be in front of her at the break and she will have to stay wide to clear.

PP 14 (12/1)
STORMY SEAS (STORM CAT x SEATTLE SLEW x ESKIMO)
IRELAND - Oneeyejack
P Cofer ( 18 - 2 - 3 - 2 - 11% )

May provide the early pace if she can break clear. Class will tell early and she may falter early. Has not yet lived up to regal breeding with any consistency.

PP 15 (75/1)
PRIDE OF PENN (DEPOSIT TICKET x POWER OF MIND x PROOF)
DelPenn - Madamson
C Shinkle ( 67 - 10 - 10 - 12 - 15% )

Madamson supported the Equinics by trying to take up the slack of the boycotters (The Runaway! Runaway! gang) and submitted horses in every race he could. From time to time, a 75/1 longshot 3 year old filly breaks her maiden in a Grade I stakes. Not this time.

Might be a track record set. There is loads of front speed in this race with about 10 fillies breaking for the front.2 or 3 tucking behind and the rest settling at the back. One of the backrunners will be Slickfest, who likely will not spend too much time at the back and will start making a steady move as soon as the front end settles. At the front, Doctor Revenge, Exbourne's Heart, and Danzig In Vermont will be fighting it out. Lots of middle movement throughout the race - but in the stretch they will sort themselves out and Danzig In Vermont and Doctor Revenge will be in the photo. Right behind in touching distance will be Slickfest. And that becomes your bet.

The Bet - Win on 13. Win on 2. Exacta box 2-9-13. Tri part wheel 2-13 with 2-9-13 with 2-3-9-11-13. Good luck.
