Is seemed like noone was alive, the streets of Malmoe was empty, silent, still. But then through the streets a rider was seen, on a chestnut horse he entered our view. It was the great jockey Janos Tandari and the horse he was on was the once so successful mare Cinnamon. In Janos hand was a torch, the olympic flame.

As they passed us we started to follow them. They headed for the station to catch a train to Stockholm where this day would end. Cinnamon looked calm, almost untouched by the crowd which followed her, she was as beautiful as a horse could be.

At the station thousands of people had come to say goodbye to the horseman, horse and torch. An old lady started crying as they were loaded on to the train. She got a last glance as the doors were shut. And we were on our way to the capital…

As we reached Stockholm the major gave a speach, he was honored to be a part of this universal movement of carrying the flame from Greece to Vermont. I could tell he wasn’t far from letting a tear down his cheek, when the torch and it’s followers headed for Taby race track.

Just in time for the races to start Cinnamon entered the main track. She passed a fanatic crowd, even more fanatic then it used to be when she was racing. She entered the winner circle and Janos got off and handed the torch over to Viking Racing track manager. During the days races the flame was there, and all winner got their photos taken standing beside it.

After the races the feast begun. Wine, beer, vodka and gin and 7-up were handed out for free to everyone, and everybody was happy. On the stage – which had been built for this occation – a consert was held, Candlemass, A-Teens, Peace Love and Pitbulls and Kent played. The crowd was rocking, one of the spectators was reported disco dancing, otherwise everything was in order. And the bands played on…
